A note activity is created or modified for a contact
A note activity is created or modified for a contact starts a workflow whenever a note is added — or an existing note is edited — on a contact record. Use this trigger to capture important context added by your team and route it to the right place automatically, such as updating a task, notifying a colleague, or tagging the contact.
This trigger fires for both new notes and edits to existing ones, so workflows can respond to evolving context as your team refines their notes.
This trigger operates at the contact scope. Contact, company, and account actions are available downstream.
How it works
- A team member adds a new note — or edits an existing note — on a contact record in the CRM.
- The automation evaluates any trigger conditions you've configured (for example, filtering on note content or author).
- If all conditions are met, the workflow starts with the contact, their associated company, and the account in context.
- Downstream steps can use Add dynamic content to reference the note content, contact fields, and company fields.
Available data
All standard contact, company, and account fields are available downstream via Add dynamic content. This includes fields such as contact name, email, phone, assigned salesperson, company name, and account tags.
Note content is available as dynamic data in steps that follow this trigger, so you can include note text in notifications, task descriptions, or other downstream actions.
