A contact is added to a list
A contact is added to a list starts a workflow the moment a contact is placed into a specified CRM list. Use this trigger to act immediately when contacts enter a segment — kicking off campaigns, assigning tasks, or updating records without manual intervention.
You configure the trigger to watch one specific list, so you can build focused workflows for each audience segment you maintain.
This trigger operates at the contact scope. Contact, company, and account actions are available downstream.
How it works
- You select the target list when configuring the trigger — only additions to that list will fire the automation.
- A contact is added to the list, either manually, by another automation, or through a bulk action.
- The automation evaluates any trigger conditions you've configured before proceeding.
- The workflow starts with the contact, their associated company, and the account in context.
Available data
All standard contact, company, and account fields are available downstream via Add dynamic content. This includes fields such as contact name, email, phone, lifecycle stage, company name, and account tags.
The trigger does not fire for contacts that were already on the list when the automation was created. Only additions that occur after the automation is active will start the workflow.
