A call activity is created or modified for a contact
A call activity is created or modified for a contact starts a workflow whenever a call is logged or an existing call record is updated on a contact. Use this trigger to respond automatically when your team records outreach or follow-up calls.
This trigger fires for both new call logs and edits to existing ones, so you can keep downstream records and tasks in sync as call details are refined.
This trigger operates at the contact scope. Contact, company, and account actions are available downstream.
How it works
- A team member logs a new call — or edits an existing call — on a contact record in the CRM.
- The automation evaluates any trigger conditions you've configured (for example, filtering on call outcome or assigned user).
- If all conditions are met, the workflow starts with the contact, their associated company, and the account in context.
- Downstream steps can use Add dynamic content to reference call details, contact fields, and company fields.
Available data
All standard contact, company, and account fields are available downstream via Add dynamic content. This includes fields such as contact name, email, phone, assigned salesperson, company name, and account tags.
Call activity fields (such as call notes, duration, and outcome) are available as dynamic data in steps that follow this trigger.
