The power of executive reports in Business App analytics
Explore Business App and Executive Reports to help manage every part of the digital marketing strategy from one place—all under your branded Business App. Show proof of performance, connect data sources, and customize the report to fit your approach: DIY, Do it With Me, or Do it For Me.
Partners who use the Executive Report and connect a data source like Google My Business see a 51% increase in client retention over 24 months compared to those who do not.
Vendasta's Google Search Console integration brings top-level data into Business App so you can easily show proof of performance. Showcase how website content, blog, listings, reviews, social media, and more result in real-world SEO improvements—building trust and retention.
Virtual doorway: SEO
Google Search Console impacts SEO: Do you show up where people are searching? (Not Social Marketing, Listings, or Reputation—those are other aspects.) By connecting Search Console to the Executive Report, you show the value of your SEO work right inside Business App.
Connect Google search console
Connect the account to Business App. Ensure the account is fully verified and the Google account has sufficient permissions to view the Search Console account. If the account doesn't appear, check verification and permissions.
The Executive Report shows immediate and incremental improvements—therefore ongoing value—over time. It is an automatically generated proof-of-performance report emailed weekly or monthly to your clients.
Data sources
The report shows changes from connected sources: Google My Business, SEO, reviews, listings accuracy, website analytics, advertising, social media activity, and vendor apps. You can also include project updates from Task Manager.
Snapshot Report connection
You do not have to use the Snapshot Report to access the Executive Report. Running a Snapshot is a good way to get immediate data in—it activates a 7-day Reputation trial and collects listings, reviews, and social data. When paired, they create a value loop. Many partners use the Executive Report without Snapshot.
Retention impact
Partners who use the Executive Report and connect GMB see 51% higher client retention over 24 months compared to those who do not.
Connect data sources first
Before sending, connect data sources: Google Business Profile, Facebook, Google Search Console, Google Analytics. The client needs their username and password to connect accounts.
Customize the report
Partner Center > Administration > Customize > Business App Settings > Executive Report
Set email defaults — Send clients an automatic notification when their report is ready. The email identifies highlights and opportunities, prompting them to visit Business App and take action (e.g., upgrade).
Edit notification settings — Partner Center > Accounts > Manage Users > Search User > kebab icon > Edit Notifications. Under "Business App" find Executive Report notifications. Use Bulk Update to modify many users at once.
Configure layout — Choose section order, whether recommendations appear, whether the Marketing Funnel appears, and the default time-range.
Customize recommended CTAs — Each section has room for one recommendation banner. Recommendations help clients find value, use features, or upgrade. Only section-relevant recommendations appear in that section.
Do it yourself (DIY)
"I use a largely product-led DIY approach. I want them to find value on their own."
- Customize look and branding (logo, favicon, custom domain)
- Define new client experience and which products are auto-active
- Set up your Store
- Set up email campaign: Partner Center > Marketing > Campaigns > Recommended Campaigns (choose campaign that prompts GMB/Facebook setup and Store exploration)
- Set up Acquisition Widget for self sign-up: Marketing > Acquisition Widgets > Create Widget. Embed on your site; link from homepage/nav.
- Run ads to drive traffic to landing page—integrate Snapshot, Executive Report, Business App into your narrative
Do it with me (DIWM)
"I plan to have a more engaged approach. We will manage their accounts together."
- Clients want SaaS plus managed solutions (set up and manage account, reviews, social)
- DIWM clients must know how to navigate Business App so they can upgrade and build habits
- Use sample scripts to explain: single-sign-on portal, marketplace, communication tools, 3rd-party connectors, proof-of-performance
- Don't overwhelm—demonstrate value in stages across touchpoints
Do it for me (DIFM)
"I plan to manage their accounts and offer a full managed-service set of solutions."
- You set up Business App for them. Clients still use it for proof-of-performance: Inbox, Meeting Scheduler, Executive Report
- Tailor your talk track to each client. Sample script covers: messaging, scheduling, customer list, products you'll operate, proof-of-performance, ecommerce store, Meeting Scheduler, Inbox, connections (Facebook, GMB, Google Analytics, QuickBooks, Search Console), automated reporting
You connect a client's Google Search Console and GMB to Business App. You set email defaults so they receive the Executive Report weekly. You customize recommendations to highlight Social Marketing and Reputation upgrades. They see SEO improvements month over month—clicks from Google up 40%. In your DIWM check-in, you reference the report: "Your findability is growing. Let's talk about reviews next." They upgrade. Retention secured.
